About
MDH Arkitekter is an interdisciplinary design practice based in Oslo, working across architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning.
We work across a broad spectrum of projects, from complex infrastructure projects and urban development to educational and cultural buildings, student housing, industrial facilities and innovative timber architecture. Our clients include public, private and non-profit organisations, and our work spans a wide range of scales and complexities.
Many of our projects shape the framework of everyday life. We design metro stations, schools, kindergartens, housing, cultural venues and public spaces that connect people, support communities and contribute to sustainable urban development.
In addition to new construction, we have extensive experience with transformation, adaptive reuse and the rehabilitation of existing and listed buildings. We see the continued use and development of existing structures as an essential part of creating sustainable and resilient environments while preserving cultural and architectural heritage.
Our interdisciplinary practice brings together architecture and landscape architecture from the earliest stages of design. We believe the strongest projects emerge when buildings, landscapes and public spaces are conceived as an integrated whole, creating places that are both functional and enriching, and that strengthen the relationship between people and place.
We strive for architecture that combines technical excellence with architectural and tectonic rigour. Through a careful understanding of context, materiality and long-term environmental responsibility, we create places that are robust, enduring and meaningful.
Whether working at the scale of a masterplan, a transport hub, a landscape intervention or a single building, our ambition is to deliver architecture that is socially responsible, environmentally conscious and built to last.
Our work has received awards and recognition both in Norway and abroad.
